Helpful Apps for the Electrical Industry

In the world of Smartphones there's an app for just about everything. Using these apps can make life on the job for electricians considerably easier. For this reason we are creating a 'Helpful Apps' webpage which will outline some of the most helpful apps for the electrical industry.

In order to do this we'd like to hear from you. Let us know by 'posting a comment' to this newsletter about your favorite apps - the ones you use on the job that make your workday easier. We'll be including these on our webpage coming soon...

Here are just a few we have come up with to get us started:

Electrical TookKit - Free This is a smart & handy tool for all Electrical & Electronics engineers, electricians, technicians, students etc. This app is simple to use and smart enough to recalculate circuit values when user edits any input data. More tools will be added to the list soon.

Ohm's Law - Free Reviewers tend to comment on the simple design of this app. There’s nothing fancy here, just the ability to solve for unknowns in Ohm’s Law.

Engineering Calc - Free This application is intended for engineers and students who are looking for a reference tool for electrical and RF engineering. Easily determine the resistor and capacitor values based on their color codes, or vice versa. Calculate electrical values based on Ohm's Law. RF engineers can also simulate a Smith Chart diagram.

Time Tracker - Time Sheet $2.99 Track time spent on the job.

  • It'd be better if these were available in Android OS as well as IOS. Some of us have to use company porovided phones and we have no choice.
