Attention NEC Book Collectors!

We recently received a message from Ray Morris who has quite an impressive and extensive collection of NEC Books. He reached out to us to see if we may have some of the books he is missing…he is only missing 6 to make his collection complete. We were unable to help with his missing books as these are also the exact same books missing from Mike Holt’s collection. We are asking if there are any other collectors out there that may be able to help in the search for the 1899, 1903, 1904, and 1905, 1909, and 1920 missing books.

Below are some great pictures of Ray’s collection along with a listing of all the books it contains. It is interesting how the covers have changed over the years, what a wonderful piece of history.

1897, 1901, 1907, 1911, 1913, 1915, 1918, 1923, 1925, 1926s, 1928, 1930, 1931, 1933, 1935, 1937, 1940, 1942s, 1943s, 1947, 1949s, 1951, 1953, 1956, 1959, 1962, 1965, 1968, 1971, 1975, 1978, 1981, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, plus the Rules of the earlier years:

  • I noticed your list doesn't include the 1954, 1955, 1957 or 1958 editions. I have not been able to find copies of these editions myself, but they are listed in the "History and Development of the National Electrical Code" section at the front of the NEC. The 2017 NEC is the 54th edition of the code. So, it looks like you are actually short (10) editions of the NEC. I am currently searching for (24) early editions. GREAT COLLECTION!

  • Ray:

Nice collection, I also have a collection, I have the 1920 but only one copy. Otherwise, I am missing the same ones that you are.

    Good hunting, Neil
