  • I have installed a sub-panel in a walk in pantry. All front and side clearences have been met. The inspector has rejected the installation because he says that a pantry is to much like a clothes closet. I tried to explain that it is not a linen closet or a coat or entry closet. This is just my opinion but I believe a pantry contains no more combustable materials than in a bedroom and probably less combustable material than in a garage. I have this up for appeal, just looking for other input and views from professionals to see if the way I am thinking is correct.
