The article helped explain the problems I am having. I was struck by a Leader Line on 4/21/07 that came up through the ground and was trying but failed to be the primary leader. That one came 8 feet away. My girl friend was walking her dog and holding my hand. She jumped sideways and I watched the arc from her hand to my right pinky extend out almost 3 feet before it broke. The bang was worse than combat. I hurt in every joint of my body at the time and she had a metallic taste in her mouth.
I now live in pain every day and though I can function on the job and my mind there is clear I have a hard time doing bids and quotes or functioning in day to day life. Sleep has become a thing of the past. Muscle strength is there but will suddenly go, like the drill suddenly went from 9 lbs. to 300.
Not fun and I thought 100KV shock was a lot to take. Boy was I ever wrong.
please,send news electrical code.
What's one of the first "rules" with lightning?
DO NOT get under trees.
Just had a man killed and his two sons injured that had sought shelter under a tree out in Lost Maples park.
Interesting article. I would like to see a comment post for personal experiences with lightning. I know I have a few.
I certainly give that an amen. Made a lot of money repairing damages to sprinkler pumps an d sat antennas. The worse cities are Plantation and Sunrise.
