HOT WORK

Mike

I attended your Orlando Seminar on 7/12 & 7/13 and was very impressed.  Last fall I attended the NCCER Construction Management Academy at Clemson University and listened to a week of very good instructors.  I think I got more good points from you than I did at Clemson, and believe me when I tell you that is saying a lot.  I have already emailed our Safety Department with several ideas.

I especially appreciated your comments on safety and hot work, as our company has a very strict hot work policy.  No hot work is permitted unless it is impossible to avoid it.  It is amazing how often impossible really means inconvenient.  I know our founder _____ was ready to walk away from a significant contract with Universal Studios several years back over the safety concerns with a particular High Voltage tie in that was supposedly impossible to shut down. They eventually conceded and we did the project.  Since we have become _____ safety is even more prominent in our work and our assessment of projects.

A lot of people complain about the cost of training people especially in an industry where people tend to come and go.  I read somewhere that 'the only thing worse than investing money to train people and having them leave is not training them and having them stay.'  So thanks for the good work.  I enjoyed it and plan to look into some other seminars for myself, and some of my people.

Sincerely,
Jeff Fillmore, Commercial Project Manager

Mike I'm desperately searching for an electrical video that specifically covers "Hot Work". We are in need of a training video that goes through the processes of preparing to work on energized circuits, and comply with OSHA at the same time. If you know of anything that is available, I would appreciate hearing from you...but then it would be nice to hear from you whether you know of anything or not!
