  • Pennsylvania will start enforcing the 2014 NEC October 1st, 2018. I am having difficulty with articles 210.12 Concerning Existing Concealed K & Tube Multi-Wire Circuits and Receptacle Replacements 406.4 (D). Arc fault Circuit Interrupter receptacles will trip on K & Tube Wiring with a Shared Neutral. The 2014 406.4 (D) 2 States you can replace a Non-Grounding Type Receptacle with another Non Grounding Type Receptacle or a GFCI Receptacle (No EGC). But article 406.4 (D) 4 States it will have to be replaced with a AFCI Receptacles in those areas listed in 210.12. This presents a serious dilemma on existing K & Tube Wiring that share a neutral.
