License Renewal & CEU Requirements

License Renewal CEU Requirements Kentucky Electrical Continuing Education Required:All licensed Kentucky electricians (ME/EE) and Kentucky contractors (CE) are required to complete 6 hours of KY approved continuing education courses each year, for a total of 12 hours biannually per license held:
  • Kentucky CE license holders need 12 hours of business-related classes
  • Kentucky ME/EE license holders need 12 hours code only classes.
A maximum of two (2) of the six (6) hours of continuing education required for Kentucky electricians, master electricians, and electrical contractors may be safety practices and procedures.

Kentucky Electrical License Renewal: Licenses are valid for 2 years and shall be renewed on or before the last day of the licensee's birth month in the second year. Per KAR Title 815 Chapter 35:060
