The following is what I feel is an important rule in the 2023 NEC®, complete with graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

Did you know fire stations now need AFCI protection in their sleeping areas?

NEC section 210.12 expands the AFCI requirements for 120V, 15A and 20A branch circuit located in sleeping quarters of fire, police, ambulance, and ranger stations. The common theme for expanding AFCI protection is always related to sleeping areas.

Check out the post and watch the video as Mike and the team break down the AFCI changes in 210.12 and connect the dots to other key Code sections.
