2023 Code Video - 705.1

Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an important rule in the 2023 NEC®, complete with graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

What is an “Interconnected Electric Power Production Source”? If you’re working with solar, generators, or any parallel power system—this is something you need to understand. As alternate power systems are becoming more common, how they’re interconnected matters.

That’s exactly where Article 705 comes in, because it covers how multiple power sources such as the utility, solar PV, generators, and other sources are connected and coordinated within an electrical system. Take a few minutes to read through the section and watch this breakdown from Mike Holt and his team as they walk through the 705.1 scope.
