2023 Code Video - 220.70

Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an important rule in the 2023 NEC®, complete with graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

The modern electrical system isn’t what it used to be, and your load calculations shouldn’t be either.

Instead of upsizing services when you add large loads, such as EV chargers, you can now manage them with an energy management system (EMS). New in the 2023 NEC is section 220.70 that focuses on the maximum load of a service controlled by an EMS.

Find out how this might affect your service calculations by reading the attached text and watching the video where Mike and the team break down this new rule in the 2023 NEC.
