2023 Code Video - 630.8

Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an important rule in the 2023 NEC®, complete with graphics and a video. I encourage you to use it as a training resource for your organization, and share it with your colleagues.

Are receptacles for cord-and-plug-connected tools in welding fabrication shops required to have GFCI protection? New section 630.8 in the 23 NEC requires GFCI protection for 125V, single-phase, 15A and 20A receptacles supplying hand tools or portable lighting in areas where welders are operated.

After you read this newsletter make sure to join Mike and the team on the video as they break down this important rule!
