Keeping up with the requirements of the Code should be the goal of everyone involved in electrical safety. The following is what I feel is an important rule in the 2023 NEC®, complete with graphics and a video. Do you know what an energy storage system is and how it works?

An energy storage system stores energy from a power production source for future use. For example, it can store energy produced by a photovoltaic (PV) system during the day and use it when sunlight isn't available.

Energy storage systems requirements are covered in Article 706 of the National Electrical Code. Some of the important requirements covered are disconnecting means, circuit sizing, and overcurrent protection.
