It is with great sadness that we share that one of our own has recently passed away.

On Friday, September 23 Sarina Snow, who worked with us for over 30 years, passed away from natural causes.

Those of you who knew Sarina knew her passion and dedication to this industry. If you worked with Mike Holt Enterprises in the years that she was our Educational Director you knew that Sarina believed in the industry, believed in her customers, and believed in the company. She always thought of our customers as friends and family. She brought passion and heart each day to the office as she tirelessly worked to help them change their lives. She was always available for a pep talk, or to share her wisdom - or her famous brisket recipe…

Sarina was born in the Bronx and was always a Bronx girl at heart. She was an only child who grew up with her parents and her beloved grandpa in a neighborhood filled with old world stories, cultures from around the world, and friends that she kept in contact with for life. At 13 she met the love of her life, Freddy Snow, and the two of them fell in love, got married, and raised a family. Sarina met Mike in 1985 and immediately knew she was where she was meant to be, and had found her home away from home. Together with Mike she helped Mike Holt Enterprises grow into a major electrical publishing house and training center, and helped expand continuing education throughout the U.S.

After Sarina retired she enjoyed playing Mahjong and getting together with her three kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and life-long friends. This summer at our CEU seminar, a customer who had not seen Sarina in over 20 years asked about her, so we called her for him to say hello and thank her for her help all those years ago. The next day another customer asked about Sarina, and so we called her so they could talk, but we missed her. The message she left when she called back was pure Sarina, and she wanted us to share it with you:

”Hey sweetheart, it is me, and I am sorry I could not pick up your call. I hope you have a wonderful day. Say hi to all of my friends and tell them that I miss them, but at this stage in my life, cookie, at 81, I need to rest. But I love them all and I miss them all and tell them that for me please. They really made my life and so have you, darling. God Bless you all and be happy and healthy always…”

Rest in Peace dear friend,
You will always be missed.

We love you,

Your Mike Holt Enterprises Family

Sarina’s Brisket of Beef Recipe

Ingredients:

  • One lean flat cut brisket of beef (approx. 3 lbs)
  • One bag of diced frozen onions
  • Salt, pepper, garlic, paprika
  • Barbecue Sauce ( Masterpiece or even honey Marinade)
  • 2 tablespoons of Crisco oil for sautéing
  1. First, I use a large covered deep fryer in which I add the oil.
  2. I put my range on a medium flame.
  3. I add the entire bag of diced onions and stir until they are soft.
  4. I then add some paprika to cover the onions and brown them as I stir.
  5. I wash the brisket.
  6. I then place in the deep fryer moving the onions to the side so I can brown both sides of the brisket.
  7. I add approximately ½ cup of barbeque sauce.
  8. I pour evenly on top of brisket and then I add about 6 oz of water and cover.
  9. I reduce the flame and let it simmer for approximately 4-½ hours stirring and adding water as needed, poking occasionally for softness.

RESULTS ARE DELICIOUS

IMPORTANT! YOU MUST POUR YOUR LOVE INTO IT AS WELL. THIS IS THE MAIN INGREDIENT.
