Article 547

Agricultural Buildings

547.9 Electrical Supply to Building or Structure from a Distribution Point

This section was relocated from 547-8 in the 1999 NEC and rewritten to clarify the disconnecting means requirements for agricultural premises. Some of the key requirements are:

(A) Site-Isolating Device. This subsection contains the new disconnecting means rules for agricultural buildings, when it is located at the distribution point.

(B) Electrical Supply. This subsection contains the revised rules for the disconnecting means, when it is located at the agricultural buildings.
Intent: The methods of supplying power and the requirements for the disconnecting means to buildings were reorganized and restated to more clearly identify the requirements.
