Electrical Inspector Exam Preparation

As an Electrical Inspector (residential or commercial) or a building plans examiner, being an enforcer of electrical codes and regulations requires a rock-solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical systems. There’s no better place to learn the Code than with nationally renowned Mike Holt. His Inspector Package is the ideal tool to provide you with the knowledge you need to prepare for your exam.

In the State of Florida the Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board is responsible for licensing and regulating building code administrators, building code inspectors, and building code plans examiners . In Florida you must pass both the ICC technical examination and the Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Florida Principles and Practice Licensure Examination.

  • 1. Get pre-approval. Contact the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) board at 850-487-1395. Pre-authorized Florida DBPR candidates must pass both the ICC technical examination and the Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Florida Principles and Practice Licensure Examination before being issued a Florida license.
  • 2. Schedule your ICC Technical Examination. Once you are approved to take the technical exam, call the reservation hotline at 1-877-224-0231 to schedule your ICC technical examination. Answers to most questions about exam-related policies, approved references, content, and more can be found in the National Certification Exam Information Bulletins.
