Audio Signal Processing, Amplification, And Reproduction Equipment

640.2 Definition

A new definition for Abandoned Audio Distribution Cable was added and it reads:

Abandoned Audio Distribution Cable. Installed audio distribution cable that is not terminated at equipment and not identified for future use with a tag.

Intent: Section 640.3(A) requires abandoned audio distribution cables to be removed and this definition clarifies which cables can stay. This is one of a group of changes in Chapters 6, 7, and 8 requiring the removal of abandoned cables.
