Learning Styles
Everyone learns differently. There are many schools of thought about how people learn, but one of the most popular frameworks is the VAK methodology. It breaks down learning styles into three categories:
- Visual. These students learn through sight, understanding information better when it’s presented in a visual way. These are students who learn best by looking at images, diagrams, graphs, tables, and charts. Color also helps them connect with the information.
- Auditory. These students learn better when the subject matter is reinforced by sound. They would rather listen to a lecture than read written notes, they prefer reading out loud to themselves or study with videos.
- Tactile (Kinesthetic). These students learn through experienceing or doing things. They like to get involved by using their hands to touch and handle in order to understand concepts.
