New Jersey Electrical License Renewal: Electrical contractors must complete 34 hours of continuing education, which includes 9 hours of Code and 1 hour of New Jersey Laws, Rules, and Regulations by March 31st every 3 years (March 2024).
The 10-Hour Code Update with NJ rules must be completed in an approved live class. Effective 04/2023: Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:31-1.7 (e) (1) (i) a licensee may earn a maximum of eight credits per triennial registration period in correspondence, self-study, televised, videotaped, teleconferences, webinars, and electronic media distance learning course that have been approved by the Board pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:31-1.7(h) consistent with the following:
- No more than two (2) credit hours may be obtained per approved course; and
- The eight (8) credits may be earned only in approved courses in the subject areas set forth at N.J.A.C. 13:31-1.7 (c) 1 through 5
