North Carolina Electrical Continuing Education Required: The NC Board has required that at least 50% of the required continuing education hours are earned in a live, instructor-led class. You need 8 hours to renew your license, 4 hours can be taken online and the other 4 hours must be classroom hours.
PLEASE NOTE: You can take more than one course listed below, and apply the extra hours to future years, but you must earn 4 hours in an approved classroom format course every year.
For online webinar "classroom credit" courses, there are multiple providers listed on the States website: here We also recommend this provider who uses Mike Holt material for his Zoom classes Electrical Code Professional
North Carolina Electrical License Renewal: North Carolina licensees must renew every year by their renewal date. Verify which date you renew on directly with the board. You can renew your license on the Board website.
Please note that the content provided on the following pages is for your information and convenience and may have been modified by the state since it was last updated here. It is the ultimate responsibility of each licensee to verify that they are meeting the requirements of their state for licensing and renewal, and for the edition of the NEC on which their test is based.
