License Renewal & CEU Requirements

License Renewal CEU Requirements Maryland Electrical Continuing Education Required: To be eligible for renewal of a license, as required by Business Occupations and Professions Article, §6-310(c)(3), Annotated Code of Maryland, an applicant shall have completed during the prior license term:
  • 10 hours of qualifying continuing education for renewal of a master license; 5 must be obtained in a classroom setting
  • 5 hours of qualifying continuing education for renewal of a journeyperson license.

Local licensing laws have changed. Contact your local board for further questions. Maryland Electricians Act This Act requires an individual to hold a State apprentice, journeyperson or master electrician license to offer, provide or assist in providing electrical services.

Maryland Electrical License Renewal: An electrician's license is valid for two years from the date it was issued. Currently, the renewal of an electrician's licensure will expire on a staggered basis.
